The Conclusion
Cross country travelling by Auto-rickshaw could be deemed perilous (definitely), bordering on insanity (absolutely), and generally not recommended (fact)! ‘Rickshaw hangovers’ were not uncommon, the result of a steady hum of traffic, wind and rain in the ears for over eight hours a day, along with wrist strain and hand calluses from revving the engine and constantly changing gear. All the rickshaws broke down, too many times to count. One didn’t make it.

But this trip provides for its own rare and unique experience as well as getting a real close up perspective of India. So, would I do it again? Without a shadow of a doubt.

Well that’s it then, all done and dusted. The undertaking seemed so huge at the beginning, but like life, all of sudden it’s in the rear-view.
